Starting Wednesday at 2 pm eastern time, the Washington Post is hosting a series of five Google hangouts to examine the state of marriage in America.
The goal is to look at marriage in light of the Supreme Court hearing two cases: 1) a challenge to California's Proposition 8 which banned gay marriage and 2) a challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act. Both cases are expected to be heard by the Court next week.

Washington continues careening from crisis to crisis because President Obama is too focused on restoring Democratic control of the House, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday.
The top-ranking Senate Republican was responding to a story in Sunday's Washington Post that detailed Obama's plans to help House Democrats retake control of the lower chamber.

New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez is in the middle of the roughest patch of a political career that has seen its fair share of tough moments.
A series of stories by the Washington Post and the New York Times detailing his connections to Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen have raised questions about whether the New Jersey Democrat can hang on to his seat. The Times editorial board has called on Senate Democrats to remove Menendez as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
